WALTON THORNS FARM HOLIDAY COTTAGES
Our three individual holiday cottages were converted from the former courtyard dairy, hay barn and stables on our farm near Six Hills. We look to provide a relaxing environment for guests in our adult only self catering accommodation in Leicestershire.
A cosy cottage, with magnificent views of fields and woodland beyond from the picture windows. An oak vaulted ceiling, deep local stone window sills and original arched brickwork add to the character of this former hay barn. The patio terrace with seating is accessed from the open plan living space. The bedroom has views over the fields and a kingsize sleigh bed with en-suite shower room.
The well equipped kitchen has an electric cooker, microwave, fridge with ice box, and washer-dryer. Deep armchairs, oak furniture, Freeview TV/DVD player, Wi-fi, tiled floors and carpeted bedroom complete the picture.Read a book on the patio terrace, listen to the birdsong or watch the passing wildlife. The Old Hay Barn is ideally suited to couples wanting to get away from it all, solo or business travellers looking to stay in peaceful surroundings.
With a spacious open plan living area the cottage has lovely views over the fields to the woodland beyond. Two double bedrooms with kingsize beds. One with an en-suite shower room and the second with views over the fields and an en-suite bathroom with bathtub and shower over. The spacious living/dining/kitchen area has three full height windows to enjoy the views and access to the patio terrace with seating.
The open plan layout gives guests plenty of space in this cottage with comfortable leather seating and a large dining table. The kitchen is well equipped with an electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washer-dryer. Oak furniture, Freeview TV/DVD player, Wi-fi, tiled floors and carpeted bedrooms complete the picture.
Outside on the patio, enjoy a drink round the table in the sun or read a book on the bench, taking in the woodland view and wildlife. Shire Cottage is ideally suited to those wanting to get away from it all and looking to stay in peaceful surroundings.
A spacious cottage with kitchen/diner and a lovely view to the fields and woodland beyond. The large kitchen diner and lounge are open plan. The larger twin bedroom has a large picture window overlooking the courtyard. The second twin bedroom is off the spacious hallway. There is a shower room with toilet and electric shower - also an additional separate toilet, all accessed from the entrance hallway. Outside a table, chairs and a bench are available to relax and enjoy the views.
There are tiled floors throughout the cottage, with no steps. There are rugs in all bedrooms and the living room. The comfortable living area has two settees, solid wood furniture, Wi-fi and a freeview TV/DVD player. The kitchen is large and bright with an electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washer-dryer. The cottage is ideal for guests requiring two bedrooms and 4 separate beds.
All cottages are available and bookable online for our 3 to 7 night packages, with flexible arrival days throughout the year.
Our cottages are thoroughly cleaned including using viricidal products. We do not fog rooms with disinfectant as this practice is not recommended by the WHO.
Electronic guest registration and arrivals at a pre-arranged time from 2.00pm until 7.30pm (other times outside this by prior arrangement). Cottages are to be vacated by 10.30am on departure day.
An access statement is available by clicking this link or in print upon request. Access to the cottages from the car parking is level and all the rooms in the cottages are on the ground floor. There are however two steps down to the patios from Shire Cottage and The Old Hay Barn.
With woodland views and rolling fields on the doorstep each cottage has a separate furnished patio to relax, watch the wildlife and allow you to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. Our farm has access onto the public footpath network. The nearest villages are approximately 3 miles away and have pubs providing refreshments.
We have an interesting classic and vintage tractor collection on the farm too. Visit our Facebook Page for other attraction offers and event ideas. Detailed information on local places to eat, shop, fuel etc is provided in each cottage along with free rural Wi-fi.
Our accommodation is adult only with a residents only policy. Due to our cottages' peaceful rural courtyard setting alongside the farmhouse and working family farm we are not able to cater for group bookings of more than one cottage or guests looking for a party venue. Sorry we do not accept pets.

Bookings are inclusive of bed linen and 2 towels per person, heating, electricity, water. Cottages have available for use a hair dryer, iron, ironing board, washer-dryer, Freeview TV and DVD player and Wi-fi subject to our terms and conditions.
