To comply with the General Data Protection Regulation(GDPR) 2018
1. We, The Owners of Walton Thorns Farm Holiday Cottages (t/a B & J Hollingshead & Son) take the privacy of guests and associated business contacts seriously and will only use their personal information for the original purposes given.
2. The personal details of The Hirer making The Booking will be collected in order to fulfil The Booking(s) or The Quotation(s) requested. This information will only be used for the purposes of the making The Booking, taking payment and informing The Hirer of any details related to the booking such as Terms & Conditions, arrival or departure times etc.
3. All bookings are made using our booking engine freetobook’s online software. We shall together with freetobook operate as Joint Data Controllers for the processing of your personal data. Freetobook’s Privacy Policy is available to view on our accommodation availability page, prior to progressing with your booking.
4. The personal details of guests will be kept on a secure password protected computer with a firewall installed or in a secure manual file.
5. Any business contact’s information collected in order to procure the services needed to run the business will be held on a secure password protected computer with a firewall installed or in a secure manual file.
6. The lawful basis for this data processing is “CONTRACT”. In order to fulfil the process of booking a cottage which is a contract between The Hirer and The Owners, this information is necessary.
7. In order for The Owners to comply with certain legal obligations the names of all other guests and passport details for non UK residents staying in the cottages must be given at Registration and retained by us for 12 months. Also any personal details necessary for our business Accounts purposes will be retained for the legally required time, these items of data are outwit the rights outlined at Clause 9. below.
8. The lawful basis for this data processing is “LEGAL”.
9. With regard to all the personal data held by the owners, all individuals will have the following rights: the right to be informed regarding its use; the right to erasure; the right to data portability; the right to rectify and the right to restrict its processing.

All Bookings are taken on a secure webpage with our booking provider Freetobook using the link on our website.

As with the majority of websites our site uses cookies to track activity and how you use the site, allowing us to make improvements for a better experience for visitors to our site.
On this site we use analytics cookies as we use software such as Google Analytics and Bing Webmaster, together with our statistics counter which monitors visited pages, entry page, search terms and links used to exit our site. Google Adwords also provides statistics when used. We also provide links and like/follow buttons to our social media and blog presences which remember if you have already followed or liked a page.

Our website 'booking' page contains links to freetobook's secure booking engine. Their Privacy & Cookies policy is available at the bottom of the page detailing availability and should be read before proceeding with a booking.
Our website contains links to third party web sites over which we have no control. Such links are provided to assist guests regarding video tours, local attractions and events, accommodation providers and social media links. We are not responsible for their content, privacy practices or other such other sites. Whilst we attempt to ensure that all links are working correctly we cannot be held responsible for any losses incurred whilst using third party sites. Please exercise caution when leaving our site and read each subsequent site's privacy policy.
